KcEMA is currently accepting submissions for programing consideration on an ongoing basis.  For consideration, applicants must complete the online submission form below.  Further submission guidelines are available upon completion of the online submission form.  You are given the option of submitting materials by mail, but we much prefer to review work online as a static or streaming compressed audio file (mp3), compressed video file, and pdf score (if applicable).  KcEMA will also accept submissions made available on Soundcloud or similar service, or in the case of video, YouTube or Vimeo.  Please include links to all files on the online submission form.  KcEMA WILL NOT, under any circumstances, accept files from online file-transfer sites such as YouSendIt or as email attachments.

Preferences:  KcEMA has a preference for works with a visual element or live instrument.  However, we typically program at least one fixed media-audio work per concert.  KcEMA has limited access to a piano.  Although we will accept submissions for piano, the possibility of a work involving piano being selected for performance is remote.

Attendance: Attendance at the event is not required.

Notification:  You will only be contacted if more information about your work is required or if KcEMA programs your work during.  You will not be notified if your work is not selected for performance.  If submitting materials by mail, your materials will not be returned.

Licensing: KcEMA will not rent parts or pay any fees directly to an individual.  We will provide each composer with a PDF of the program that he or she can submit to ASCAP or BMI.

Performers:  KcEMA is interested in proposals from performers along with composers.  If you are a performer interested in performing a single work or an entire concert, please complete the online submission form at http://www.kcema.net/submit.html.  Although KcEMA’s budget is limited, funding may be available to supplement performer travel and expenses.  KcEMA is not accepting full-concert proposals involving the music of a single composer.

“It [a KcEMA concert featuring Joao Pedro Oliveira] was a unique and memorable moment and opened up some very interesting dialogues.  It gave me an appreciation and a certain understanding of the genre.  I’ll definitely keep an eye out for these guy’s next performance.”
